Temperature at 12 noon = 10°C above 0°C = 10°C

it decreases at 2°C per hour

Final temperature = 8°C below 0°C = -8°C

Change in temperature = 10-(-8) = 18°C

Rate of decrease is 2°C per hour

Time = 18/2 = 9hour

Ao time at which temperature would be 8°C below zero = 12:00 + 9:00 = 21:00

So time at which temperature goes 8°C below zero is 9:00 pm.

And temperature at 12:00 pm = 10°C , As temperature decreases at 2°C

So temperature at midnight = 10°C - 2(12) = 10 - 24 = -14°C.

⠀⠀⠀⠀ ❐ ...Given... ❐⠀ ⠀

The temperature at 12 noon = 10° C above...

It decreases at the rate of 12° C per hr until midnight...

⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀❐ ...To find... ❐⠀⠀

⠀⠀what time would the temperature be 8°C below zero...??

⠀ ⠀what would be the temperature at midnight...??⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ ❐ ...SoLution... ❐⠀

⠀Let noon time be "t"... ⠀⠀

Then...

  • ⠀T = 10 - 2t⠀

Now...

⠀We have to find the when the temperature will 8°C below zero...

  • ⠀⠀⠀T = - 8

  • ⠀ ⠀10 - 2t = - 8 _____ eq 1...

  • ⠀ ⠀⠀2t = 18

  • ⠀⠀⠀t = 18 / 2

  • ⠀⠀ ⠀t = - 9

Therefore, the temperature will be 8° C at the

9 : 00 pm...⠀ ⠀⠀

To find temperature at midnight...

put values in equation 1...

  • T = 12 : 00

  • T = 12 - 2 ( 12 )

  • T = 12 - 24

  • T = - 14 ° C

Therefore, the temperature at mid night is - 14° C...
