Given :

Temperatures :

Sun = 28°C

Mon = 30°C

Tue = 32°C

Temperature of each day from Tuesday to Friday  (both days inclusive) was 1º C less than that of the  following day.

To find :

The difference in the  average temperatures of the first four days of the  week and that of the last three days of the week.

Solution :

According to the condition the temperatures will be as follows :

Tue = 32°C

Wed = 33°C

Thu = 34°C

Fri = 35°C

Sat = 36°C

Week starts from Monday.

Therefore, average temperature of the first four days

= (30 + 32 + 33 + 34) / 4

= 32.25°C

Average temperature of the last three days of the week

= (35 + 36 + 28) / 3

= 33°C

Difference between the average temperatures of the first four days of the  week and that of the last three days of the week

= 32.25 - 33

= -0.75

Answer: 4.25°C

Step-by-step explanation:

From Tuesday to Friday temperature was 1°C less than the next day.

So temperatures are as follows

Sun: 28°C

Mon:30°C

Tue: 32°C

Wed:33°C

Thu: 34°C

Fri:35°C

Sat:36°C

Now first 4 days according to question: (sun+mon+Tue+wed)

Therefore , average temp= 123/4 = 30.75

Average temperature of last three days = 105/3= 35

Therefore, difference in temperature = 35°C-30.75°C= 4.25°C
