Let the unit digit number is x

Tens digit number is y

The number is of the for 10 y + x

It is given number in the tens place = 3 times the number in the unit place

Therefore y = 3 x

The reversed number is 10 x + y

10 y + x + 10 x + y = 88

11 x + 11 y = 88 [dividing both sides by 11]

x + y = 8

x + 3 x = 8 [ since y= 3 x]

4 x = 8

x = 2

y = 3 x = 6

The two digit number is 10(6) + 2 = 62

Reversed number = 26

Verification Number in the tens place = 3 x number in the unit place

6 = 3(2)

sum of the number and the reversed = 88

62 + 26 = 88
