INTRODUCTION:Metamorphosis is the transformation of the larva into adult through drastic changes.
Meta means -beyond ;morphe means -form.
Example are frog,insects etc.
THE TERM METAMORPHOSIS IS NOT USED WHILE DESCRIBING HUMAN DEVELOPMENT BECAUSE OF THE FOLLOWING REASONS:
1)Humans belongs to viviparous category (directly give birth to young ones)
2)Only internal fertilization takes place(zygote & development of foetus takes place inside inside the mothers womb or uterus)

It is not used as humans don't go through stages to develop into a human unlike other animals that go through various stages to develop introduced an adult of their species. For ex- frogs
