the term of metamorphosis not used while describing human development. why

the term Metamorphosis is not used since metamorphosis is a drastic change in the structure of an organism example from caterpillar to butterfly. humans do not undergo such drastic changes during growth and growth in humans is a gradual process so term metamorphosis cannot be used in humans
