Air is a mixture of various gasses. That means it also contains gasses like oxygen, carbon dioxide, nitrogen etc. We know that all living animals need oxygen for their survival and all living plants need oxygen for respiration and carbon dioxide for photosynthesis. Plants are the producers for the entire food chain. If air is absent, then plants and animals cant survive. So, air supports life.

Air is important for the planet because it contains the gases necessary to support plants, animals and other organisms.Additionally, the presence of an atmosphere keeps the Earth at a habitable temperature.
