Solution:

Let say GP  is

a , ar  , ar² .....

third term of a geometric sequence is 18,

=> ar²   = 18

7th term is 1458

=> ar⁶   = 1458

=> ar⁶ /  ar² =  1458 /18

=> r⁴ = 81

=> r⁴ = (± 3)⁴

=> r = ± 3

ar²   = 18

=> a ( 9)  = 18

=> a = 2
