rusting takes place in test tube b
because rusting occurs both due to water and oxygen.
in test tube a it is covered by oil hence oxygen cannot reach the nail so it won't get rusted.
in test tube c anhydrous calcium chloride is present which absorbs the moistness hence oxygen alone cannot rust the nail.

Rusting will occur in a test tube (b) test tube containing iron nails in water present in the half of the test tube.

  • Rusting is caused by both water and oxygen.
  • The nail in test tube A is covered in oil, oxygen cannot reach it, and it will not rust.
  • Anhydrous calcium chloride absorbs moisture in the test tube; oxygen alone cannot rust the nail.
