The present time in which we are living can be called as plastic era surely and this statement is totally justified according to me.

The reason for my this answer is:

Today no one is concerned about the environment.Plastic plays important role in our lives.Plastic is versatile,hygenic,lightweight and easy to carry.So,it is used everywhere and by everyone.It is used for the purposes of storing. It is also used in packaging many items.Today bottles,jars and containers are also made up of plastic.
