The top of a table is in the form of a trapezium as shown in the figure. If its parallel sides are 80 cm and 140 cm respectively and the perpendicular distance between them is 40 cm, then find its area in square metres.​

Area of trapezium = 1/2* (a+b)* h

=1/2* (80+140)* 40

=1/2* (220)* 40

=1/2* 8800

=4400 cm²

=44 m²
