IN ΔADE

tan \theta = \frac{Perpendicular}{Base}

\frac{1}{\sqrt{3}}= \frac{6}{AD}

AD=6\sqrt{3}=10.39

IN ΔADE

Hypotenuse^2=Perpendicular^2+base^2

AE^2=DE^2+AD^2

AE=\sqrt{6^2+10.39^2}
