Silent Valley.

It is a national park with an area of 237.52 square kilometres.

It is the second largest national park in the state of Kerala. It has some rare species of flora and fauna and is located in the Nilgiri hills within Palakkad District of Kerala.

The region was found out by the botanist Robert Wight in 1847. It is one of the tropical moist evergreen forest in India and the last undisturbed tracts of South Western Ghats mountain.

It is contiguous with the proposed Karimpuzha National Park that is on its north and Mukurthi National Park that lies to its north-east.

It forms the core of the Nilgiri International Biosphere Reserve and is part of The Nilgiri Sub-Cluster and the Western Ghats World Heritage Site that was recognised by UNESCO in 2007.
