Let x be the price of one table and similarly y be the price of one chair

3x+2y=8745. (1)

x-40=y
x-y=40 (2)

Multiplying equation (2) by 2
We get ,
2x-2y=80 (3)

Now adding equation (1)&(3)

We get , x =8825

Now substituting x=8825 in equation (2)

8825-y=40
y= 8785
