the total cost of 5 tables and 2 chairs is 990.if a table cost 30 more than a chair, find the price of each

Let us take the cost of a chair as 'x' and the no.of chairs are 2

So the cost of a table would be 'x+30' and the no.of tables are 5  (Given)

As per the question 2x + 5(x+30) = 990

• 2x + 5x + 150 = 990
• 7x = 990 - 150
• x =  840 / 7
• x = 120

So each chair costs Rs. 120 and each table costs Rs. 150
