let CP of vaccum cleaner=x

CP of dishwasher=y

x+y=78750

y=78750-x

SP of vaccum cleaner=x+(37x/100)

=137x/100

Sp of dishwasher=y-(27y/100)

=73y/100

=73(78750-x)/100

137x/100= 73(78750-x)/100

137x/100= 73*78750-73x/100

137x/100= (73*78750/100)- (73x/100)

(137x+73x)/100=73*1575/2

210x/100= 73*1575/2

x=(73*1575*100)/(2*210)

=27375

y=78750-x

=78750-27375

=51375

The cost price of cheaper iteam, i.e., vaccum cleaner was 27375

Hope it helps.......
