Income of Hazari is Rs. 1000 and Murari is Rs. 2000

jeff1009: income of hazari (x) +income of murari(y) =3000--------(i)
prasad30: how
jeff1009: we have to find savings so we will take percent of income remaining. As they are equal so 20% of x =40% of y
jeff1009: 20/100 of x - 40/100 of y=0 - - - - - - - (ii)
jeff1009: equate both the equations and we will get the value of x

Solution :-

Let the income of Hazari be Rs. 'x' and the income of Murari be Rs. 'y'

Now, according to the question.

⇒ x + y = 3000 .........................(1)

Given : Savings of both is equal.

As Hazari spends 60 % of his income, so he saves 40 % of his income.

And, Murari spends 80 % of his income, so he saves 20 % of his income.

Now,

⇒ 40 % of x = 20 % of y

⇒ 40x/100 = 20y/100

⇒ 2x/5 = y/5

⇒ 2x/5 - y/5 = 0 ...................(2)

Now multiplying (1) by 2/5, we get.

⇒ (x + y = 3000)*2/5

⇒ 2x/5 + 2y/5 = 1200 ...........(3)

Now, subtracting (2) from (3)

      2x/5 + 2y/5 = 1200
      2x/5  -   y/5 =  0
     -        +           -

⇒ 3y/5 = 1200

⇒ 3y = 1200*5

⇒ 3y = 6000

⇒ y = 6000/3

⇒ y = 2000

Substituting y = 2000 in (1), we get.

⇒ x + y = 3000

⇒ x + 2000 = 2000

⇒ x = 3000 - 2000

⇒ x = 1000

Hence, income of Hazari is Rs. 1000 and income of Murari is Rs. 2000
