The total mass of a container and 3 similar cans is 680g .when there are 9 such cans in the container, the total mass becomes 1370g. What is the mass of the empty container?

now, eqn (iii) - eqn (ii);

(3x - x) + (9y - 9y) = 2040 - 1370
