The total of three cousins’ ages is 67. Surekh is one third as old as Haima and 7 years younger than Sard. How old are the three cousins ?

Ages of Surekh , Haima. Sarad.

Solution :-

Let ,

the age of Surekh be 'x'

According to Question :-

Surekh is one third as old as Haima i.e Haima is three times the age of Surekh.

Age of Haima = 3*x = 3x

Given that :-

Surekh is 7 years younger than Sarad i.e Sarad should 7 years elder that Surekh.

So,

Age of Sarad = 7 + x

Sum of their age = 67years [given]

so,

x + 3x + 7 + x = 67years

x + 3x + x + 7 = 67years

5x + 7 = 67years

5x = 67 - 7 years

5x = 60 years

x = \sf\dfrac{60 years}{5}

x = 12years

So,

Age of Surekh = x = 12years

Age of Haima = 3x = 3*12 years = 37years

Age.of Sarad = x + 7 = 12 + 7 = 19 years
