The total surface area of a cone is 71.28 cm².
Find the height of this cone if the diameter of
the base is 5.3 cm.

∴ radius =2.8 cm

Surface area of a cone A=πr(r+ h)

Substitute the respective value in above formula.

71.28=\frac{22}{7}\times2.8(l+2.8)

71.28=22\times0.4(l+2.8)\\l+2.8=\frac{71.28}{8.8}\\l=5.3

Now find the height of the cone.

5.3^2=2.8^2+h^2\\28.09-7.84=h^2\\20.25=h^2\\h=4.5

Therefore , height =4.5cm
