Answer:

1.area of square 1

=a^2(if side=a)

2. TSA of cube

=6×a^2=6a^2

3.if a=10cm

TSA = 6×10=60cm squ.

Answer:

(i) a^2 is the area of the square 1.

(ii) Area of 6 squares  = 6\times a^2= 6a^2

(iii) The total surface area of (TSA ) of cube with 10cm =  600 cm^2

Given:

The total surface of area (TSA) if the cube above can calculated as follows:

TSA = area if square 1+ area 2+area 3+ area +4 area 5 + area 6

Solution:

(i) Area of square 1 = a^2 where a is the side of the square .

(ii) Determine the total surface area of the cube (i.e) the combined area of six squares together : area of square  = a^2

          Area of 6 squares  = 6\times a^2= 6a^2

(iii) The total surface area of (TSA ) of cube with 10cm = 6 a^2= 6 (10 \times 10) = 600 cm^2
