The Tractors Have Broader Tyres Because

  • Pressure is the ratio of the proportion of force and surface area which act on a body which mathematically can be written as Pressure is equal to the force divided by the area of the surface.
  • So we can say pressure is inversely proportional to the surface area so when the tyres of the tractor are broad they have a large surface area and we see that the larger the surface area than smaller will be the pressure acting on the surface.
  • So having a large surface area of tyres lessens the pressure that is required to act on the tyres and ground which lessens the damage which is produced on the ground by the tyres of the tractors and the tractor can run steadily with a large force.
  • Hence, the large surface area of the broad tyres of the tractor induces very less pressure on the tyres and therefore it facilitates the tractor to run with large force smoothly on the ground without a much of defects on the tyres of the tractor.
