• Given
- ABC is a right angled triangle, right angled at A.
- Hypotenuse = 25 m
- Base = 7 m
• To find
- The other side (Perpendicular)
• Solution
By pythagoras theorem
⇒ H² = P² + B²
where,
- H = Hypotenuse
- P = Perpendicular
- B = Base
⇒ CB² = AC² + AB²
⇒ (25)² = AC² + (7)²
⇒ 625 = AC² + 49
⇒ 625 - 49 = AC²
⇒ 576 = AC²
⇒ √576 = AC
⇒ 24 = ± AC Reject - ve
⇒ AC = 24 cm
- The other side = 24 cm
