Given

  • ABC is a right angled triangle, right angled at A.
  • Hypotenuse = 25 m
  • Base = 7 m

To find

  • The other side (Perpendicular)

Solution

By pythagoras theorem

⇒ H² = P² + B²

where,

  • H = Hypotenuse
  • P = Perpendicular
  • B = Base

⇒ CB² = AC² + AB²

⇒ (25)² = AC² + (7)²

⇒ 625 = AC² + 49

⇒ 625 - 49 = AC²

⇒ 576 = AC²

⇒ √576 = AC

⇒ 24 = ± AC Reject - ve

⇒ AC = 24 cm

  • The other side = 24 cm
