Tropic of Cancer is the most northerly circle of latitude on earth at which the sun can be directly. The positioning of the Tropic Of Cancer has a major effect on India's climate. It has abruptly divided the country into two parts. Thus, areas to the south of the Tropic of cancer is is closer to the the equator thus they remain very hot for the entire year whereas areas north to the Tropic of Cancer falls in the the warm temperate zone and experience comparitively minimum temperature and cooler climate most of the time in the year. The water bodies comprising the Bay Of Bengal and Arabian Sea in the peninsular India maintains moderate climate around the coastal areas.
