the two poles of height 9m and 12m respectively stands vertically on the ground the distance between their feet is 4m, calculate the distances between their tops.A tree is 9m height broken in such a way that its top touches the ground which is at a distance of 3m,find the height at which the tree is broken and length of broken end which touches the ground is 5m

distance. between there top = √(4^2+3^2)=√(16+9)=√25=5

we find the base as 4
the height is 12-9
which is 3
we need to find the hypotenuse
now, use a^2 + b^2=c^2
16+9=25
root of 25
5 is the answer
