The umpire tosses the coin with an initial velocity of 10m/s, in the absence of air resistance, the height the coin will reach will be what?​

v ^{2}  - u ^{2}  = 2gh

in this case the acceleration due to gravity opposes the motion of coin so taking

g = - 9.8

u = 10

v = 0

we get

0 - 100 = 2*(-9.8)*h

-100 = -19.6h

h = 100/19.6

h = 5.1 m
