The undefined nuclear region of prokaryotes are also known as  NUCLEOID which means similar to nucleus. It is present as there is no nuclear membrane covering in the nuclear region. It is an irregularly shaped region within prokaryotic cells that contains all or most of the genetic material, called genophore eg. It is generally found in bacteria. In contrast to the eukaryotic  nucleus, nucleoid is devoid of a nuclear membrane which is responsible for aiding protection to the nucleus from external disturbances.

The undefined nuclear region of prokaryotes is also known as nucleoid.Nucleoid is a nucleus like structure containing most of the genetic material which is known as genophore. It doesn't have a definite shape it is because of the absence of nuclear membrane like in eukaryotic cells.
