false, because it is not compulsory that only half will be unfertilized

Yes because an egg or ovum is reproductive cell in female body like sperm in male body. It has 23 number of chromosomes which when gets fertilised makes up 46 chromosomes and hence the baby produced has forty six chromosomes in each human cell.
