it is true .the human female egg/ovum is formed from diploid (2n) oogonia/primary oocyte(same chromosome no. as body cells) which after reductional division (meiosis) form secondary oocyte(n) which releases ovum(n)haploid) and this unfertilized ovum has half the number of chromosomes than the body cells as well as oogonium.
