Plastics can be useful but when it comes to the environment it is polluting. Plastics are non biodegradable things that means microorganisms cannot decay them. When they are dumped in the soil, it takes millions of years for them to decay. And when they are dumped in rivers and lakes, they harm aquatic life.
Even when they are burnt toxic gases are released into the atmosphere causing air pollution. Over all we can conclude that plastics cause global warming and pollution.
Instead of plastic bags, cloth bags and jute bags are preferred.
