The V-T graph of cars A and B which start from the same place and move along straight
road in the same direction is shown, calculate (i) acceleration of car A between 0 to 8 sec
(ii) acceleration of car B between 2 to 4 sec (iii) the point of time at which both the cars
have same velocity (iv) which of the two cars is ahead after 2 sec and by how much?​

Explanation:

(i) slope of vt graph gives u acceleration

slope of car A = 80 / 8

I.e a = 10 m / s2

(ii) slope of B = area of triangle + area of rectangle formed in the graph

==> 1/2 × 2 ×40 + 2 ×20

==> 40 + 40

==> 80 m/s2

(iii) at 2 sec n 6 sec

(iv) car B
