a+1=ba+1=b

a−b

a −b=a−(a+1)a−b=a−(a+1)

=a+(−a)+(−1)

So we can conclude that a−b=−1a−b=−1.

Alternatively, we can actually just reorder a+1=ba+1=b to the form a−ba−b.

a+1=ba+1=b

a=b−1a=b−1 (subtract 11 from both sides)

a−b=−1a−b=−1 (subtract bb from both sides)

This also concludes the answer is −1−1.
