Q. ( 65 ) ^ 2 - ( 60 ) ^ 2

Solution : Let a = 65 and b = 60.

We know that,

a^ 2 - b ^ 2 = ( a + b ) ( a - b )
 

( 65 ) ^ 2 - ( 60 ) ^ 2 = ( 65 + 60 ) ( 65 - 60 )

                                = 125 x  5 

                                = 625.

2nd method : ( 65 )^2 - ( 60 ) ^ 2

                    = 4,225 - 3,600

                    = 625.

So, ( 65 ) ^ 2 - ( 60 ) ^ 2 = 625.
