As we start moving from equator to north pole or north pole to the equator there is change the value of g.

  • The value of g will start increasing as we start moving from the equator to the north pole.
  • At equator the value of g is 9.78 m/s² and at the pole it is 9.83 m/s² which means there is approximately about 10% difference between them.
  • The reason behind is that at the equator due to earth's rotational motion and centrifugal force therefore it has less g value.
  • Also the equator has wider area than the poles from the center of the earth.
