The value of g is maximum at pole because earth is not completely sphere as radius from center to pole is less than radius from center to equioter.
One another reason is velocity of earth..
At pole linear velocity is greater as compare to pole, then centrifugel force act against gravity which also reduce the value of g

The maximum value of g in the poles is:-
9.832m/s^2
- The Earth's shape is such that it is flattened towards the poles and bulges in Equator.
- The more close to the centre of gravity the more will be the value of g.
- As the poles are flattened they are close to the centre of gravity of the Earth.
- Hence poles have the maximum value of g.
Hope it helps mate.
