Given:-

2x - 1 is a factor of the given equation.

To find:-

The value of k

Solution:-

2x - 1 is a factor therefore,

2x - 1 = 0

2x = 1

x = 1/2 is a zero of the polynomial.

Substituting the value of x in the polynomial,

6(1/2)² + k(1/2) - 2 = 0

6×1/4 + k/2 - 2 = 0

3/2 + k/2 - 2 = 0

3/2 + k/2 - 4/2 = 0

(3 + k - 4)/2 = 0

3 + k - 4 = 0

k - 1 = 0

k = 1

The value of k is 1.
