Answer:

now x-1 =0

x = 1

p(x) = 4x³ + 3x² -4x + k = 0

p(1) = 4 x 1³ + 3 x 1² - 4 x 1 + k =0

     = 4 + 3 -4 + k = 0

      = 7 - 4 + k =0

       = 3 + k =0

        = k = -3

the value of the k is -3
