since x= -1/2 is a root

polynomial p(x)= 4x^2 - 3px - p =0

Now put X = -1/2 in p(x)

p(-1/2) = 4(-1/2)^2 -3p(-1/2) -p =0

> 4*(-1)^2/2^2 - 3p(-1/2) - p =0

> 4*1/4 +3/2p -p =0

> 1 + 1/2p =0

> 1/2p = -1

> p = -2 ans.
