Compensation point refers to the intensity of light at which rate of respiration is equal to the rate of photosynthesis in plants. The occurrence time is usually early morning and late evening in low sunlight.

The amount of COtaken up in the photosynthesis is equal to the amount of CO2 released by respiration.

The amount of Otaken up for respiration is equal to the amount of O2 released by photosynthesis.

The net value of carbon dioxide and oxygen produced or assimilated is zero at compensation point in plants.

The RQ also becomes zero because

RQ = CO produced/O2 consumed

RQ = 0/0 = 0

Option D is the correct answer.
