taking the identity (a+b)2 = a2 + 2ab + b2

and (a-b)2 = a2 - 2ab + b2

so applying em

sin2a + 2 sin a cos a + cos2a    +    sin2a - 2 sin a cos a + cos2

2 sin a cos a - 2 sin a cos a gets cut

sin2 a + cos2 a = 1 (identity)

so 1 + 1 = 2

therefore 2 is the answer my friend
