The velocity of the car in m/s for two phases is:
{1}54*5/18  ----> 15m/s
{2}72*5/18  ---->20m/s.
the work done in accelerating the car=1/2*1500*(20^2–15^2)
=750*(400–225)
=750*175J
=131250J

Hope it helps u.

Answer:

131250 J

Explanation:

Kinetic energy  = (1/2)mV²

54 k/Hr = 54* 1000/3600 = 15 m/s

Kinetic energy of the car at 54 km/Hr = (1/2) * 1500 * 15²

= 168750 J

72 k/Hr = 72* 1000/3600 = 20 m/s

Kinetic energy of the car at 54 km/Hr = (1/2) * 1500 * 20²

= 300000 J

Work done = 300000 J  - 168750 = 131250 J
