The magnitude of the force is 0.3N

GIVEN

The velocity of a particle of mass 150g changes from 8m/s to 12m/s in two sec.

TO FIND

The magnitude of the force.

SOLUTION

We can simply solve the above problem as follows;

The formula to calculate force is given as;

F = ma

Where,

F = Force exerted.

m = mass of the object.

a = acceleration

First, We will calculate the acceleration of the particle.

We know that,

a = change in velocity/time taken

a =  \frac{12 - 8}{2}

a = 2 m/s²

Now,

Mass = 150 grams = 0.15 kg

a = 2 m/s²

Therefore,

F = 0.15 × 2

= 0.3 N

Hence, The magnitude of the force is 0.3N
