The velocity of a river of wide 400 is 2 kmph . A boat is rowed from a point on a bank to an exactly opposite point on the other bank with velocity of 8 kmph . The distance b/w the exactly opposite point and the point which the boat reaches the bank is

assume x axis along river flow and y axis in the direction of exact opposite side
river width along y axis is 400 m = 0.4 km
(in question i think it is meters)
8 kmph is velocity along y
so time taken by boat to cross = 0.4/8 = 1/20 hr

in this time the boat moves along x axis by a distance = 2×1/20 = 0.1 km = 100m
