The velocity of any moving object, in ordinary situations, does not always remain constant.

For example, a train gains velocity while leaving a station and loses velocity while approaching

a station. Similarly, when a ball is dropped from a certain height, its velocity goes on increasing

as it comes to the ground. But if a ball is thrown upwards its velocity goes on decreasing, till it

becomes zero and then its velocity starts increasing as it approaches the ground.

(a) Which of the following case represents retardation?

(b) The rate of change of velocity with time is called

(c) What can be concluded about acceleration if velocity decreases continuously?

(d) Draw the graph of velocity versus time when a ball is thrown upward with

10m/s.(g=10m/s²)
