the velocity time graph of a particle moving along x axis is shown in the figure given .find the displacement of the particle and distance traveled of the particle and also avg. Velocity of the particle in interval 0 to 5.

Distance = Total Area of velocity time graph

= (0.5 × 2.5 × 2) + (0.5 × 2.5 × 1) + (5 × 1)

= 8.75 m

Displacement = +ve Area of vt graph - (-ve area of vt graph)

= [(0.5 × 2.5 × 2)] - [(0.5 × 2.5 × 1) + (5 × 1)]

= -3.75 m
