Molecular mass of CO2 = 44 g

1 Mol CO2 occupies 22.4l

ie, 44 g CO2 = 22.4 l

so, 4.4 CO2 ( 44 * 0.1 =4.4 ) = 22.4 * 0.1

=2.24 L

option ( b )

We know that,

Number of moles = Given weight /Molecular weight

Given weight of CO2 = 4.4 g

Molecular weight of CO2 = 12 + 2 × 16 = 12 + 32 = 44g/mol

Number of moles = 4.4/44 = 0.1

1 mole of an ideal gas at STP occupies 22. 4L volume

0.1 mole of CO2 occupied 22.4 × 0.1 = 2.24L volume

Therefore the answer is option b.2.24L
