The volume of a 500 g sealed packet is 350 cm3. Will the packet float or sink in water if the density of water is 1 g cm-3? What will be the mass of the water displaced by this packet?

Hi
Volume of packet = 350
Weight of packet = 500
therefore density =m/v
500/350
=1.42
It's density is more than of water so it will sink
Mass of packet in water =dv
1.42*350
=497
So water displaced = 500-497= 3
hope it helps you

density of packet=mass/volume=500g/350cm3
=10/7 g/cm3
Hence
density of packet is greater than density of liquid.therefore packet will sink..
mass of body in water=volume of body × density of water= 350×1=350gm
mass of displaced liquid=500g-350g=150gm
=10/7 g/cm3
Hence
density of packet is greater than density of liquid.therefore packet will sink..
mass of body in water=volume of body × density of water= 350×1=350gm
mass of displaced liquid=500g-350g=150gm
