Answer :

  • Radius of base of cone is 5cm

Given :

  • The volume of a cone is same as that of a cylinder whose height is 3cm and radius is 10cm

To find :

  • The radius of base of cone if its height is 36cm

Solution :

First we need to find the volume of cone

Given ,

  • Height is 3cm
  • Radius is 10cm

As we know that,

  • Volume of cylinder = πr²h

Where, r is radius 10cm and h is height 3cm

》22/7 × 10 × 10 × 3

》6600/7 cm³

Hence, Volume of cone is 6600/7 cm³

And also Given,

  • Height is 36cm
  • Then the radius of cone be r1

As we know that,

  • Volume = 1/3 πr1²h

》1/3 πr1²h = 6600/7

》1/3 × 22/7 × r1² × 36 = 6600/7

》 r1² = 6600 × 7 × 3 / 7 × 22 × 36

》r1² = 25

》r1 = √25

》R1 = 5cm

Hence , Radius of base of cone is 5cm
