To find the value of edge and consequently the height of the cube, you have to find the cube root of the volume of the cube.

Edge of cube = (1728)^1/3

Find the volume of the square pyramid of height (1728)^1/3 the same as its base.

The volume of the pyramid = a^2 h /3

Now in this case, h=a

Therefore,

The volume will be given by a^3/3

= {(1728)^1/3} / 3
= 1728/3
= 576.
