Volume of the cylinder is given as Pi x R² x H where P1 = 22/7; R = radius of the base of the cylinder and H is the height of the cylinder.

The volume of the cylinder is given to us as 308 cm³. We can easily find out the R to be = 49/8 cm

The lateral surface area of a cylinder is given by the formula 2 x Pi x R x H
Hence we have the lateral surface area of this cylinder to be =
2 x (22/7) x (49/8) x 8 = 308 cm²

The total surface area of the cylinder is 2 x Pi x R² + Lateral Surface Area

Now 2 x Pi x R² = 2 x (22/7) x (49/8)² = 235.8cm²

So the total surface area of this cylinder will be = 235.8cm² + 308 cm² = 543.8cm²
