Volume of cylinder = pi r²h

72 pi = pi r² × 8

72/ 8 = r²

r² = 9

r = 3cm

Total surface area of a cylinder

= 2pi r (r +h)

= 2×22/7 ×3 ( 3+8)

= 2× 22/7 × 3 × 11

= 2× 22/7 ×33

= 207.42 cm²
